It was here that the astronauts practiced for the moon landing

In 1965 and 1967, American astronauts trained for moon missions in Iceland's barren, volcanic landscape

We start the tour from the Hotel Laki, where we are located and go straight into the crater area were we drive  around the craters on tailor made tracks in close proximiti with nature.

We climb up on the craters, learn about the formation and history of this magnificent and unique area of moon landscape. Here we do not expect to see other people or vehicles as this is not a typical tourists place and not easily accessible in any other way.

It is fun to show people the complexities of lava on whether it flowed over the water and formed a pseudo craters or area where there were no water. This trip is for everyone, whether people are pursuing unique quieter nature or hardness of fun.

Before the ATV adventure begins the guide instructs the riders on safety rules and on how to drive the ATVs. The guide estimates the capacity of the group and explains the tour route. The tours are suitable for both beginners as well as for experienced drivers
