Northern light hunt on a specially modified Super Jeep

The Northern lights are created by electrically charged particles in an altitude of 100 to 250 km, where the atmosphere high above the surface of the earth becomes extremely thin. They shine similar to fluorescent light and their colors vary, mostly they are green or white, but the pressure and composition of the atmosphere varies at different altitudes and affects the coloring of the lights, and therefore they may seem red as well. 

Using our specially modified super jeeps we move away from the crowds and off the beaten track, where silence and serenity will keep us company as we hunt for the mythical lightshow.  

Remember that this tour is highly depended on weather conditions and we reserve the right to cancel if the circumstances are not in your favour. You will be contacted if the tour is cancelled.

 If the evening tour goes ahead and the lights are not seen, we will offer the trip again for free!

Complimentary pick-up at your hotel/guesthouse in Reykjavík is included in this tour. Please be ready in the lobby!
